Raised on both coasts by Sufi-Muslim artists, Salihah Moore grew up surrounded by creative energy. At first she explored painting and crafts but it was when she discovered bead weaving that her lifework became clear. With a love for color stories, each beaded piece is like a painting and is rarely laid out in advance, rather they come together through instinct and intuition. Salihah started her bead weaving with designing jewelry and quickly began exploring larger art pieces and other wearable ways beads can be woven together. Salihah works intricately with glass beads, needle, and thread from her home studio in Colorado where she lives with her two daughters.
